How to Send Money to Friends in Facebook Messenger

Facebook Messenger recently implemented the ability to share Spotify tracks right within the chat. How much you enjoy the feature will depend on how much you use both Messenger and Spotify, which may or may not describe.
But Messenger has been adding cool features long before that, like playing Chess with your friends. Here’s one that really caught our eye: you can instantly send money to people while chatting with them.

How do you do it? Just type out a dollar amount. Messenger will detect it and immediately turn it into a hyperlink. Now all you have to do is click on it (or tap on it in mobile devices) and it will ask you if you want to send that amount to the chat recipient. Confirm and done.
The first time you do it, you’ll have to enter you debit information, but every time after that will be instant. It’s quite convenient if you frequently chat with friends using Messenger as opposed to some other messaging app.
But if you don’t use Messenger, or if you friends aren’t big Messenger users, then you’ll probably want to stick with tried-and-true Venmo or Google Wallet instead.
How often do you use Facebook Messenger? Is this a feature that you find useful? Let us know in the comments!
